Working Group:Science through digital learningCountry:LatviaLanguages:EnglishAge of students (target group/s):6-12, 13-14 Ingrīda Brizga, a teacher from Cesis Primary School Nr. 2, developed an integrated lesson “Water Droplet”, including mathematics, chemistry, science, physics, and social studies. Students detected water droplet mass and volume using electronic scales and calculator. They computed the amount of water running through a tap per minute, per hour, per day; then, they calculated the costs for wasted water spilled during a month. Students made water molecules model on computers and searched for information on the Internet in order to find out the number of such water molecules in one drop of water.Strong points and opportunities:Integration of several subjects. Attractive experiments close to the real life. The use of the scientific equipment.Limitations:NoneAdded value with regards to the 3 topics of the MASS project:WG1 The use of various scientific equipment, and the Internet. WG3. Connection to the everyday life is motivating for low achievers.Any prerequisites needed:Electronic scales Internet connection | ||
